Ayden's "Naked Dance"

Ayden has come up with a dance he does when he's naked and usually does it after he gets out of the bathtub. He now does it even when he has clothes on, and it's pretty funny and cute, but he refuses to do it on command or if there is a video camera around. We actually were able to get it on video the other day. It's not as good as when he spontaneously dances, but it will have to do for now.

Caelan's First Birthday Party

Cael's turned one on Thursday, March 18th and we had his family party on Saturday. We reserved the party room at Valentino's and ordered pizza for everyone. The pizza was great and the party room was really nice and private. The theme was baby Sesame Street characters (mainly Elmo) so I made an Elmo cake for everyone while Cael got his own baby Elmo smash cake. Cael wasn't sure about the cake at first, but after trying the frosting a few different times he seemed to be a fan of the frosting, but he never really tried the cake under the frosting. I can't believe my baby is one already!

Adeline, Madison and Carter's 3rd Birthday

In March we were invited to a joint birthday party for three of Ayden's friends, Carter, Adeline, and Madison. It was at the Playground for Kids in Ankeny where they have lots of inflatables and slides for the kids to play on. Ayden had a blast.

Snow Day

We got some snow at the beginning of March that didn't stick around too long. It wasn't very cold so I took the boys out to play in it. I pulled them in the sled, we made a snowman, and Ayden rode his tricycle around for a little while. It was the perfect wet, packing snow to make a snowman with. It also didn't stick around long and was gone the next day.

Eloise's Pony Party

Ayden's friend Eloise had her 3rd birthday party at the beginning of March. It was a horse party and all the kids got a chance to ride on a horse. Ayden loved it and rode a few different times. It was his first time on a horse other than riding a pony a few times at the fair. The kids also got horse balloons to take home with them.

I realize it has been about a month since I have posted anything, but I have many good excuses. After Cael's b-day the boys both got sick, Cael had a horrible rash which turned out to be an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin (more on that later), the weather (before this week) has been pretty nice so we have spent a lot more time outside when we aren't at activities for the boys, I'm getting ready to host book club at my house this Thursday and am trying to clean, make some food, and get ready to lead the discussion, and I've started training for the Dam to Dam 20K (12.4 miles) which is June 4th! It's going really well since I have only been running for about a month and just ran 8 miles yesterday. I also can't forget about going to Goals in Motion almost everyday. Gotta get my kickboxing in! Anyway, I will get back to the blog next week after Easter is over. I have lots of pictures I need to download, and will get them up soon! Check back next week, please!
