Fun at Grandpa and Grandma's House
We took the boys to my parents house one weekend and they had just gotten a motorized gator for Ayden to ride around on. It used to belong to my nieces, but they outgrew it. Ayden loved riding around on it.
Cael liked it too.
Not a fan of the grass.
Cael is ready to drive, if only he could work the foot pedal.
Going for a ride in the real gator with grandpa.

Here they come!

Family Bike Ride
We took the boys for a bike ride for the first time this season on Mother's Day. Ayden has been in the bike trailer before, but it was Cael's first time. Cael doesn't like hats so we didn't put the helmet on him the first time, and we were only riding around Ada Hayden. We only rode for about 4-5 miles and then Cael was starting to get cranky for milk/nap. The second time we went for a bike ride we went on a nice paved trail. We picked up Joel from work and drove to Slater to get on the trail. Unfortunately, Ames does not have any long, paved bike trails. Cael wore the helmet for about 20 minutes before he wanted it off. We took a picnic of Jimmy John's with us and stopped to eat before turning around. We biked a total of 20 miles and the boys did great. Ayden was being a good big brother and entertaining Cael and making him laugh. Towards the end Cael was getting cranky, but it was past his bedtime by that point. I thought I would be super sore the next day because that was my first long bike ride in a long time, but the only sore part was my butt from the bike seat. All the kickboxing and running that I do must have helped! We're looking forward to more family bike rides this summer!
Ready to go!
