Cael Eating Cheerios

Cael decided to help himself to some Cheerios :)

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Ayden was really excited about dyeing Easter Eggs this year. He was also able to get them in and out of the dye by himself (well, for the most part). He had been asking constantly for the past month when the Easter Bunny was coming?

Concentrating...

Easter Bunny Breakfast

I took Ayden to the Easter Bunny Breakfast at Reiman Gardens the weekend before Easter while Joel stayed home with Cael. They had donuts, rolls, and fruit to eat and things to drink. After that we checked out some of the stations. Ayden loved petting the real bunnies they had there. He also decorated a cookie and got his face painted. They had an Easter Egg hunt too, which he was really excited about.

Petting the bunny.

There were tons of eggs, as you can see from the pictures below. You could collect as many or as few eggs as you wanted, and then turn them in for a goody bag where everyone got the same thing. For some reason Ayden decided he only was going to pick up yellow eggs, although I did see him grab just a few of different colors. Ayden collected a huge bag of eggs and had so much fun!

Picking up all the yellow eggs.

His bag of yellow eggs with a couple greenish yellow ones mixed in.

I made Easter shirts for both of the boys to wear for Easter.

Had to go back and hold/pet the bunny again.

Sitting still to get his face painted.

He got an Easter Egg painted on his face.

Cael's Reaction to Amoxicillin

Cael had been sick for over a week with a cold and it wasn't getting any better so we went to the doctor. He prescribed amoxicillin for Cael because he thought he could have a sinus infection. It was his first time taking amoxicillin, and he was fine the whole time while he was taking it. The day after he finished it he started getting little pink dots all over. I thought it was maybe heat rash because it was the first really warm day of the year. I called the First Nurse that night and she said it could be from the amoxicillin or from his one year vaccinations he had gotten less than two weeks before. She said to just keep an eye on it. The next morning he woke up and he looked terrible! I called the doctor's office and made an appointment as soon as they opened up. I wasn't sure what it was, but it didn't look good.

My poor baby...
The doctor said he thought it was a reaction to the amoxicillin and made a note in his chart to not prescribe him that or penicillin again. He said you can get a rash from it for up to 2 weeks after finishing the medicine. (I got hives from amoxicillin when I was a kid too, and haven't been able to take the medicine since.) I didn't realize you could have a reaction after you were done with the medicine either. He told me to give Cael some Bennadryl when he needed it and they rash should be gone in a few days. Luckily, it only lasted for a few days and didn't seem to bother Cael. It was a scary situation, though!

His rash/hives looked terrible!
