Aydenisms...

We've been seriously working on potty training for the past few days since Ayden will be 3 in a week and he is in the largest size of diapers that they make. It's time to get serious now! Today after lunch I told Ayden he needed to go try and use the potty.

Me: "Ayden, I think you need to try and go potty."
Ayden: "NO!"
Me: YES!!
Ayden: "Mommy, stop talking back!"

On Saturday Joel decided to take our large piggy bank to the bank and get the money taken out and deposited since it was getting really full and heavy. He called me after getting out of the bank and said he had some good news, and some even better news. His wedding ring, which has been missing for about a year, was found when they took the money out of the piggy bank to count it! Ayden likes to put spare change in the piggy bank and I guess he decided it was a good place to put Joel's ring. We had looked everywhere for it except for moving all the furniture and looking underneath. I was hoping I hadn't vacuumed it up and hoped maybe we would find it when we eventually moved. Well, the ring is now safe and sound. The other good news was that there was over $400.00 in the piggy bank :) This is one story we will always remember and laugh about, and I'm sure Ayden will get tired of hearing this story as he gets older :)

Blank Park Zoo

About a week and a half ago we took the boys to the zoo. It was a Friday and a gorgeous day to be outside. Ayden had been talking about the zoo, and the last time we were there was over the winter and there weren't as many animals to see. He loved checking out all the animals and making the animal noises. He kept asking to see elephants and zebras (which they didn't have there) so I guess we will need to take a trip to the Omaha Zoo sometime this summer. He really liked seeing the camels, the sea lions, lions, and giraffes.

Hmm... (Ayden's famous thinking pose.)

Let's go that way!

3 Months Old!

Cael turned 3 months old on Friday! He's getting bigger and has been in 3-6 month clothes for a few weeks now. He usually is asleep between 7:30-8:30 pm and wakes up once around 4-5 am to eat and then sleeps until 7:30-8:00 am. A few weeks ago he was going through a growth spurt and was waking up 2 and sometimes 3 times a night. That was rough for mommy. Within the past week I've noticed he isn't as fussy in the evenings which is his usual fussy period. He has also been cooing, talking, and smiling more and crying less. As cute and little as they are those first 3 months, I'm glad the hard months are over! He has been rolling over a lot from tummy to back, but I think he is starting to like tummy time more now that his neck muscles are getting stronger. He isn't constantly rolling over when I put him down on his tummy like he was a few weeks ago. Cael also really likes sitting up and looking around. he's been spending some time in his bumbo seat and sitting up on mommy and daddy's laps.

Caelan's Birth Announcement

Here is a scanned version of Caelan's birth announcement. We didn't get Ayden's sent out until he was 3 months old and I vowed to get Caelan's sent out before then. Well, he will be 3 months old on Friday. I had good intentions... We had some technical difficulties (including it took Smugmug way too long to ship these to us, twice!) and Joel designed this himself after I showed him one I liked. Finally, it is ready to get sent out. Caelan was about 7 weeks old when these pictures were taken.

If and when there is a next time I will get the little ones pictures taken when he/she is a week or two old and get them sent out much sooner. Caelan wasn't very cooperative since it was naptime, but I think a real newborn would be asleep more so it would be much easier to get good pictures.
